The After Earth Report is a Titan AE based fanzine welcoming fans 16 years of age and older. It is nonprofit and will be a downloadable PDF, therefore there is no jury process to get in. What is a fanzine?
A fanzine, or zine, is a collaborative creative project done by fans of a certain media. It can include writing and artwork, all compiled into a single document for easy consumption.Who can participate?
Anyone! If you are a Titan AE fan and want to contribute, please submit an application.
You must be 16 or older and able to join Discord as that is our primary method of communication.What can I submit?
Almost anything. We are accepting comics, essays, page art, poetry, spot art, and short stories. Our only restriction is that we probably won't be able to accommodate a choose-your-own-adventure or full set of RPG rules.What kind of content is allowed?
The general rating for this zine is G-very soft R. So movie-typical violence, harsh language, and slightly risque content is allowed but frontal nudity and sexual content are not. Original characters are allowed and may be the focal point of your work so long as it is evident they are in the Titan AE universe. Shipping is also allowed under the understanding that each individual story and art piece is it's own universe - don't get upset if someone else is also writing Stith with their original character, we're all here to have fun and create together in whatever way makes us happiest.When is this zine being published?
We're giving it a lot of time by planning for far ahead, but our ultimate goal is to release on the 25th anniversary of the movie's release in the USA, so June 15th, 2025.How will the zine be published?
We're planning to release it as a free-to-download PDF, with a host site yet to be determined.
guidelines
- This zine is SFW, so NSFW content is not allowed. The highest rating is a soft R, leaning towards movie typical violence or harsh language. Please ask if you are unsure.- Original characters are allowed as a focus, but the universe setting must still be fundamentally recognizable as Titan AE.- All works should be new and you may not share your piece(s) outside of our Discord until the zine is released. Doing so disqualifies your piece from appearing in the zine.- All pieces must be stand-alone, so you may not include a chapter of your ongoing fic or a piece that requires further background knowledge than watching the movie.- AI and ChatGPT works are not accepted. Tracing is also not accepted. All works must be human made, not generated.
art guidelines
- All artwork must be at minimum 300 dpi and sent as a PNG.- Color work should be RGB format.- Inks and sketches are allowed but must be clean (no stray sketch lines, eraser marks, etc).- Page art size is A4 (2480 x 3508 pixels (21cm x 29.7cm)). Smaller pieces will be on combined pages with other pieces.- Spot art size is a minimum of 400x400 pixels.- Comics must be legible, please use an easy to read font and review at reading size.- Maximum comic length is 5 pages, minimum is 1 panel.
writing guidelines
- Minimum word count is 500 words, maximum is 2500 words.- Essays, short fiction, and poetry are allowed.- Must be spellchecked and beta read, please collaborate with your fellow participants to find a beta reader.
